Aeration

Lawn Aeration Services

Surprisingly enough, a layer of compacted soil 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick can make a big difference in your lawn’s overall health and longevity. Aeration is a process that creates holes in the soil so nutrients, water and air can reach the grass roots. Our aeration service is best served in the fall in order to guarantee your lawn comes back even more full and green during the spring. If you’d like more information about our landscaping services or would like to receive a free estimate for our aeration services at your property, please contact us today.

How to prepare for aeration with Outcomes Landscaping

  1.   Initially, we will schedule your appointment after quoting your property.
  2.   To avoid any damage we’d ask that you kindly mark any exisiting underground sprinkler heads along with any invisible fencing with flags, stakes, or both! We want to be aware of any objects that may impede our machine.
  3. We also ask that you remove any pile(s) of debris or scattered leaves that may keep us from aerating your property at the time of service. This is important as we need to access all areas of your lawn!
  4.  Mow and lightly water your lawn 24 hours prior to Outcomes Landscaping arrives at your property to perform our aeration services.

What’s the benefit to yearly aeration of your lawn?

At Outcomes Landscaping we pride ourselves in providing you with the best aeration service possible. We make sure the job is done right the first time around, and strive to ensure our clients are happy with the work performed. Your lawn will be aerated using a specific piece of landscaping equipment called a lawn aerator. This piece of equipment wil break up small pieces of soil and place them on top of your lawn, alleviating soil compaction and increasing the flow of oxygen, water, and nutrients to roots. Aerated grass roots can then dig deep into the soil, resulting in strong and resilient growth.

The plugs will eventually break down and fall back into the ground after about 2 weeks. We recommend you try and stay off of your lawn during this period of time to allow the aeration to run its course and work effectively.

What about overseeding?

It’s a good time to overseed your lawn while you have your lawn aerated. Aeration creates more seed to soil contact, which helps the seeds germinate quicker, ultimately givin you that lush, healthy lawn that you’re after. Granted it does depend on the area in which you live in, but here in the Carolina’s we do in fact recommend this method.

After overseeding, water the grass daily until it reaches mowing height. It’s only necessary to water 1/4 inch above the soil.

You can look forward to a lush green lawn come spring by getting started now with our aeration or overseeding services. Learn more and schedule your service with Outcomes Landscaping today.
